What happened after graduation?
Attended University of Houston for one year, followed by one year of work. Moved to Idaho in 1961 and attended the University of Idaho for three years, as well as joined the U.S. Army Reserves. In 1964 moved to Wilmington, Delaware and worked at General Motors. However, "Go West young man, go West" was calling and once again, in 1965, I loaded up my Triumph Spitfire 2-Seater with all my worldly possessions, hit the road and after a short stop in Denver ended up in Northern California.
What an exciting time! Summer of love, flowers in my hair, etc. To quote Jerry Garcia: "If you remember the 60's, you weren't there."
Worked one year at U.S.Steel in San Francisco. Then in 1966 I went to work with Coldwell Banker in Oakland, CA as a commercial real estate broker specializing in industrial real estate. I had finally found my niche. There I stayed for 33 years brokering/buying/selling commercial real estate.
Family
Married in May of 1982 to Mary Bury of Syracuse, NY. Best decision made and best part of my life began. No children, thus no grandchildren.
I never thought I would…
Attend a reunion - especially a high school reunion. But surprise, I will be there.
Rewarding events since 1958...
Too many to mention.
What I would do differently...
Very few - maybe should have retired from real estate brokerage earlier than in 1999.
Special interests or hobbies...
They change over the years, but my special interests now are golf, NBA basketball, and presently am working on getting my Private Pilot's Certification. Also, tending to the few acres of land that came with my second home in the Sierra's.
Favorite vacation spot...
Anywhere, as long as I'm with Mary and our dogs.
Additional thoughts and comments...
Am thankful for a good life.
