Aldine High School 1958
We had a great time at the reunion this year and missed those not there.
Joe Rogerson, Ken Blake and Rufus Summers participated in the golf tournament and did not win last place this year. As usual, the Friday event was fun with a larger number of players this year. John Ingram Stuart had planned to play but had to go into the hospital. He is still there but understand he is improving.
Charles Calland took some great pictures and Ken will place them on our website when available. A member of the class of '60 kept smiling at me and I finally went over to say hello. Don Lucas came over and asked if I recognized him. I said name was familiar and he laughed. It was our dear Pop Sockwell's son, Leon. He looks just like his dad and so nice. I asked if he was still alive but he said no. Pop was a kind, sweet man. Charles took a picture of him and his wife which will be posted on our website when available.
This will be the last year that I will hold an office in the association but would like to remain as your school contact. I will consider helping with the reunion next year if I'm able and they need my help. I started as your class representative in 2003, thanks to Gloria, then secretary and president. At the next meeting in May, a new president will be elected. I have loved doing this but family matters prevent me from continuing.
Lets plan something big for our 55th reunion. That time will be here before we know it. Please feel free to email me with any news.
