The 2009 Aldine Reunion was held 24-25 April 2009. The Aldine Alumni Scholarship Association and the Aldine Class of 1959 hope that a good time was had by all who attended any part of the events. Of course, we wish everyone could have been there. The fun began at High Meadow Ranch golf course early Friday morning. We had a good number of players participate, and once again we were able to boost the coffers of our scholarship fund. We are very grateful to all who were a part of that.
Friday evening, the classes of 1958 and 1959 got together for dinner and a lot of visiting at the Potatoe Patch Restaurant.
We had good attendance, around 229 people, at the reunion program and dinner at the Marriott Greenspoint on Saturday evening. Although the big auction normally held at these events was discontinued for this year, we did have a few items donated. Those were auctioned, raffle tickets were sold and a couple of large contributions were matched. All in all, it was a very good evening for student scholarships.
The Class of 1959 worked very hard to put the evening's program and dinner arrangements together. The Association is very appreciative of their efforts, as well as those in attendance. We were thrilled to have some attend from the Class of 1949; graduates from 1939 and 1949 were our honorees this year.
We will be announcing in the near future the dates for next year's tournament and reunion. Be sure to make note of those dates. We hope that many more of you can attend in 2010. That will be the Class of 1960's 50th high school reunion - you don't want to miss it.
If anyone has photos from this year's events, please send them to me aldine1958@yahoo.com. We would love to include some of them on our website: www.aldine1958.org
